Yayasan Danamon Peduli was established in Jakarta, Indonesia on 6 October 2005 based on Notarial Deed of Putut Mahendra, SH., No. 05 dated 6 October 2005. The deed of establishment was approved by the Minister of Justice in a decision letter No. C-322.HT.01.02.TH 2006 dated 17 February 2006 and was published in Supplement No. 282/2006 of the State Gazette No. 32 dated 21 April 2006. The Foundation started its operation officially on 17 February 2006.

The Foundation's Articles of Association have been amended several times, the latest by Notarial Deed of Putut Mahendra, SH., No. 23 dated 2 February 2006, concerning the change in the Foundation's scope of activities. Based on Article 3 of the latest amendment of the Foundation's Articles of Association, the Foundation's scope of activities includes:

1. to provide scholarships to students and college students;
2. to nurture and develop small medium enterprises;
3. to build or support schools from playgroup, elementary, high school, until university level;
4. to conduct training, management education, seminars, and/or other scientific discussions;
5. to participate or build, develop, and maintain libraries related to science and small medium enterprise development;
6. to build relationships or conduct comparative studies related to science and small medium enterprise development, with other bodies or institutions in Indonesia and overseas;
7. to conduct, participate in or support activities related to community health;
8. to conduct other activities in line with the objective of the Foundation, based on guidance from the Board of Trustees.
